Hotel Murano


The night before flying to New Orleans, Hubby and I stayed at Hotel Murano,  Located in down town Tacoma, Washington..  We've always wanted to experience some of the top hotels in our town. so with that said welcome to Hotel Murano, next stop.... Hotel Roosevelt New Orleans!!!

It pays to have a well known daughter....  upon arriving at Hotel Murano, I was asked by the Desk Clerk (Sam), if I was Amanda's Mom...Yes, I replied.  With that said, Mom and Pop received a very generous  room upgrade  SWEET!!!    Thanks Sam!

for dinner we dined on an excellent caesar salad with prawns


and enjoyed a delicious linquini with clams, and pesto sauce

Veggie Garden Update June 29, 2012

Back from vacation and the garden had turned into a jungle.  After weeding and chopping down the unwanted greenery,  I can finally show you  the latest finds in the veggie garden.

surprise surprise...the green bell peppers are growing


sour cherries...make great jelly!!!

the rhubarb has grown so well...can't wait till its mature enough to use in salads and jellies


 forgot what kind of berries these are, but they sure are a big hit with the birds.  After they turn orange-red, I watch the many different birds fight over then from my kitchen window.

tonight I'm making a pot of turkey necks...added some of this delicious celery from you know where.




 cukes and zucchini, having problems with mildew on the leaves. But their still hanging on.   
                                               I welcome any suggestions for this mildew problem?
