Veggie Garden Update June 29, 2012

Back from vacation and the garden had turned into a jungle.  After weeding and chopping down the unwanted greenery,  I can finally show you  the latest finds in the veggie garden.

  our little veggie garden

a big-ol  radish

7 year collard.......sprawling its leaves

surprise surprise...the green bell peppers are growing

sour cherries...make great jelly!!!

what a lovely head of romaine

the rhubarb has grown so well...can't wait till its mature enough to use in salads and jellies

forgot what kind of berries these are, but they sure are a big hit with the birds.  After they turn orange-red, I watch the many different birds fight over then from my kitchen window.

 romaine lettuce

a shot of Hubby's grapevine

i have a lot of romaine lettuce growing

tonight I'm making a pot of turkey necks...added some of this delicious celery from you know where.

cukes and zucchini, having problems with mildew on the leaves. But their still hanging on.
I welcome any suggestions for this mildew problem?

 zucchini

bell pepper

corn is doing great!!!

lavender

 asian pear tree

can you see the blueberries?

a handful of strawberries a couple of radishes and a bunch of romaine lettuce
enough for a lovely summer salad

How's your garden growing?
